Eren Legal PLLC is seeking a Virginia-licensed Criminal Defense Attorney to represent and advise clients in criminal and related matters before Virginia courts. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in criminal and related proceedings before Virginia courts
  • Handle assigned matters from initial client consultation through final resolution
  • Review police reports, charging documents, evidence, discovery, and court records
  • Conduct legal research and develop appropriate defense strategies
  • Prepare and file motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Appear at arraignments, bond hearings, motions hearings, plea proceedings, trials, and sentencing hearings
  • Communicate and negotiate with prosecutors, court personnel, witnesses, and opposing counsel
  • Advise clients regarding charges, possible consequences, legal options, and case developments
  • Maintain accurate case files, deadlines, court dates, and client communications
  • Collaborate with the firm’s attorneys and administrative team
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all professional and ethical obligations

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar
  • Knowledge of Virginia criminal law, criminal procedure, and applicable court rules
  • Courtroom, litigation, or criminal defense experience
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage cases independently and meet court deadlines
  • Strong professional judgment, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and clearly with clients
  • Ability to attend required in-person court appearances in Virginia

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling misdemeanor, felony, traffic, bond, probation, or protective-order matters
  • Trial, motions, plea-negotiation, and sentencing experience in Virginia courts
  • Prior public defender, prosecutor, criminal defense, or litigation experience
  • Additional language skills are welcome but not required
