EB-1 Visa
Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Professors, and Multinational Executives
The EB-1 Green Card is one of the fastest and most prestigious U.S. immigration pathways. It is designed for individuals who have reached the top of their field — whether in science, business, arts, education, athletics, or international leadership.
The U.S. offers the EB-1 category to attract world-class talent that contributes to the country’s economic growth, innovation, culture, and global competitiveness. Unlike other visas, many EB-1 applicants can self-petition without employer sponsorship, making it highly desirable.
Applicants must show they are among the elite in their field. Examples include:
- EB-1A (Extraordinary Ability): Awards, major publications, media coverage, patents, high salary, judging others’ work, or international recognition.
- EB-1B (Outstanding Professors & Researchers): At least 3 years’ teaching/research experience, significant academic contributions, and job offer from a U.S. university or institution.
- EB-1C (Multinational Executives & Managers): Employment with a multinational company abroad for at least 1 of the past 3 years, and transfer to a U.S. branch, subsidiary, or affiliate.

USCIS carefully reviews evidence to confirm:
- Extraordinary Achievement – whether the applicant ranks at the top of their field.
- Sustained Recognition – proof of long-term excellence, not just one-time success.
- Future Benefit to the U.S. – demonstration that the applicant’s skills will continue to positively impact America.
Processing Time: Typically 8–12 months, faster with Premium Processing (15 days for initial review).
Green Card Issuance: Depends on visa bulletin availability, but EB-1 usually has shorter waiting periods than other categories.
Why EB-1 is Good for You
- Recognized as one of the highest U.S. immigration categories
- Faster processing than most Green Card routes
- Flexibility – EB-1A doesn’t require a job offer or employer sponsorship
- Family Benefits – spouse and children under 21 also receive Green Cards
